Postgraduate Research Fellow

Master and PhD students registered in one of the Kazakh universities are invited to apply for the fellowship program of the Eurasian Research Institute (ERI) of the Khoca Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University in order to prepare a chapter of their thesis as a project. Two Master and two PhD student will be accepted to the fellowship program. The aim of the fellowship program is to conduct postgraduate research projects in the fields such as economics, finance, energy, international relations, security, transportation, technology, education, culture, art, language, religion, philosophy, sociology, political science, history, archeology and environmental protection. Conditions for acceptance and the rights and liabilities of the fellows are determined in the Procedures and Principles of the Fellowship as follows:

a) A graduate/doctoral student in Kazakhstan studying in a Master or PhD program in one of the Kazakh universities.
b) The student should submit a chapter of his/her thesis as a project proposal. The thesis should have an interdisciplinary nature and be related to historical, socio-cultural, political or economic fields in the Eurasian and/or the Turkic-speaking countries. It should also make a significant contribution to Kazakh-Turkish relations and relations among the region countries in Eurasia in both regional and global scale.
c) The student should get permission from his/her advisor.
d) The student should send an application request to the Institute by an e-mail info@eurasian-research.org (If accepted, the fellow should submit the original documents to the Institute). The following documents should be attached to the application:

  1. Application Form indicating the length of stay in the Institute (Fellowship Application),
  2. A Copy of the passport,
  3. CV and a document including brief information about scientific articles of the applicant,
  4. An official certificate of evidence which proves that the applicant is a master/PhD student,
  5. A summary of the proposal (not more than one page) describing a chapter of the thesis that the applicant will study on as a project at the Institute,
  6. Full text of the proposal,
  7. A copy of one of the sections of the thesis in English (if available).

e) Thesis proposals should be provided in two printed copies and on a CD-ROM.
f) The amount of the fellowship is 27.000 tenge per month for master students and 32.400 tenge per month for PhD students.
g) The fellowship will cover 6 months (September, October, November, December, January, February) between 2018-2019.
h) The fellows are required to complete the project and submit their project to the Institute in a timely manner. After the peer review, the project is published by the Institute in either electronic or a paper version.
i) Projects should be prepared in English and should not include more than 6000 words.
