Uzbekistan’s Path to Enhanced Partnership with the European Union

In accordance with the 2019 European Union (EU) Strategy on Central Asia, the European Council initiated negotiations on the new-generation bilateral Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreements (EPCAs) with the Central Asian states. The EPCA, aimed to be a cornerstone of the EU’s engagement with the region, will be the major instrument of bilateral partnership.
