Vakur Sumer

Assoc. Prof. Vakur Sumer has received his Ph.D. on International Relations, from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. He is a faculty member at Department of International Relations, Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey. He has worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Global Research Institute at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, NC, USA, and as a visiting scholar at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, University of California-Davis, CA, USA. Sumer has been a researcher at Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg, Germany in 2012. He has published articles in journals such as Uluslararası İlişkiler, Water International, and Journal of Peacebuilding and Development. Sumer has recently coedited a volume, Sustainable Water use and Management, published by Springer in 2015. He has also published a book from I.B. Tauris in 2016: Water and Politics in Turkey: Structural Change and EU Accession.

Suat Beylur holds a PhD degree in Sociology from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, as well as an MA in International Relations from Hacettepe University. Prior to joining the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Turkish-Kazakh University, Beylur has worked as a specialist, director and adviser for the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism (YTB). Beylur’s research interests lie primarily in the areas of social and cultural change, youth and religion-state relations in the post-Soviet Space and the Balkans, as well as Turkish diaspora and public diplomacy policy. Beylur has several scientific works including articles, book chapters and papers published
in national and international books and journals, including symposiums and congresses.

Zhengizkhan Zhanaltay

Zhengizkhan Zhanaltay is a research fellow in the Eurasian Research Institute at H.A.Yassawi Kazakh Turkish International University. Zhengizkhan completed his bachelor’s degree at international relations department of KIMEP University in 2010. He completed his master thesis named ‘Oralmans integration into Kazakhstani Society: Turkish Kazakh Case’ in International Relations department of KIMEP University in 2014. His research interests include international migration politics, labor and ethnic migrants social and economic integration into society and remittance.

Gulnar Nadirova
Senior Research Fellow

Nadirova Gulnar Ermuratovna graduated from the Oriental Faculty of Leningrad State University, in 1990 she defended her thesis on the Algerian literature at the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies, in 2006 doctoral thesis – on modern Tunisian literature at the Tashkent Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor.

Kanat Makhanov

Kanat Makhanov is a research fellow at the Eurasian Institute of the International H.A Yassawi Kazakh-Turkish University. He holds a BA in Business Economics from the KIMEP University from 2012. In 2014 he earned his Masters degree in Economics from the University of Vigo (Spain), completing his thesis on “Industrial Specialization in autonomous regions of Spain and Kazakhstan”. His main research interests are Spatial Economics, Economic Geography, Regional Economics, Human and Economic Geography.

Omirbek Hanayi

Omirbek Hanayi is a research fellow in the Eurasian Research Institute at H.A.Yassawi Kazakh Turkish International University. In 2009 graduated from Minzu University of China Faculty of Kazakh language and literature. In 2008-2009, he studied in Turcology Department of Justus Liebig Giessen University as an exchange student. In 2010, he entered the Turcology Department of Justus Liebig Giessen University in 2010. During 2010-2012 he work in the project named “Kasachisch im postsowjetischen Kasachstan”.

Daulet Zhailybay

Daulet Zhailybayev is a research fellow at the Eurasian Research Institute of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. In 2009, he received a bachelor’s degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, faculty of history. In 2013, he graduated from the faculty of ethnology of KazNU with a master’s degree. The thesis topic is “The Azerbaijanis in Kazakhstan: Ethno-Cultural Processes”.

Azimzhan Khitakhunov

Azimzhan Khitakhunov is a research fellow at the Eurasian Research Institute. He has received his bachelor, master and Ph.D. degrees from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Ph.D. degree was completed in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, Bologna, Italy). Currently, he is a senior lecturer at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Higher School of Economics and Business, Economics Department, where he teaches macroeconomics related disciplines. Albina Muratbekova

Dr.Albina Muratbekova is a research fellow of the Eurasian Research Institute at H.A.Yassawi Kazakh Turkish International University. Albina holds a PhD degree in Oriental Studies from Al Farabi Kazakh National University. She was a Fellow of the EUCACIS PhD support programme, Fudan Fellow 2017, a visiting student of the Cambridge Central Asia Forum at the University of Cambridge along with being an exchange student at Lanzhou University. Previously, she had worked at the international departments of Narxoz and AlmaU universities on the implementation of the internationalization strategy

Dinara Taldybayeva
Junior Research fellow

In 1983, born in South Kazakhstan region city of Turkestan. In 2000, Taldybayeva entered in Akhmet Yassawi International Turkish Kazakh University economy faculty department of International Relations. In 2004, she graduated with International Relations specialization and in 2005 started to work at the same department as secretary. In 2006, she continued to work as lecturer. In 2009, she won the Akhmet Yassawi University Board of Trustees scholarship for postgraduate study at the Gazi University department of International Relations.

Erkinbek Turgunov

Erkinbek Turgunov is a researcher at the Eurasian Research Institute at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. From 2005 to 2009, he studied at the at the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University and from 2014 to 2016 he studied at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay. In 2008 began working as a correspondent in the Republican magazine “Zhalyn.” He is currently working on a Ph.D. thesis on methodologies of teaching B. Maylin’s biography.

Almas Junisbayev

PhD candidate, master of history, graduated from the Faculty of History (2005) and graduate school (2008), master’s degree (2013) Abai university, doctoral studies at the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch.Ch. Valikhanov at the al-Farabi university (2017). Completed a scientific internship at the University of Turin (Italy). In 2013 he defended his dissertation on the topic “Scientific and pedagogical activity of Sanzhar Asfendiarov (1928-1937).

Balzhan Eshmetova

Balzhan Eshmetova Batyrhanovna is a research-fellow at the Eurasian Research Institute. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She also received her bachelor’s degree in “Law” from Almaty University of Continuing Education. She completed her doctorate in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Oriental Studies, TURKSOY Department in the specialty of “6D021200-Turcology”. During the study, she did research under the International Mevlana program in Omar Halisdemir University (Republic of Turkey, in Nigde). She did her scientific internship for research purposes in Bursa Uludag University (Republic of Turkey, Bursa), in the department of  “Turcology” at the Faculty of Turkish Language and Literature Faculty.

Zhandos Kudaibergenov is a researcher at the Eurasian Institute at the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. In 2009, he received his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Gumilyov Eurasian National University. In 2011-2013, he studied at Hacettepe University and got Master’s degree in International Relations. His area of interest and topic of master’s thesis is “Integration processes in Southeast Asia”. In 2018, he entered PhD program in Management at the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. In 2021 he successfully completed his doctoral program.
