In the opening speech of the panel, Dr. Suat Beylur, director of the Eurasian Research Institute, thanked participants for attending the panel organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the coup attempt by the terrorist organisation secretly formed in the Republic of Türkiye on July 15, 2016. Dr. Suat Beylur, who pointed out that Türkiye was subjected to various anti-democracy coups from 1950 to July 15, 2016, noted that the results of the July 15 treason against democracy and national unity were completely different from the previous ones. Dr. Suat Beylur said that the attack organised by the FETO terror organisation failed due to the prudent position of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan and his appeal to the people for solidarity against the revolution.
The Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty, Ali Ryza Akinci, noted that 251 people were martyred, more than 2,700 were injured, and a number of state facilities were damaged in the July 15 incident. He stated that the Turkish people bravely took to the streets to defend democracy against the treacherous acts of the FETO terrorist organization, which was formed secretly within the Turkish army and various state institutions. Noting that the first visit to Türkiye after the July 15 coup attempt was by Kazakhstan, Ali Ryza Akinci said that Türkiye always stood by the Kazakh state and showed brotherhood during the January events in Kazakhstan. At the end of his speech, Ali Ryza Akynzhi emphasised the importance of studying the sources of terrorism in the fight against terrorism and taking the necessary measures in time. He also responded to questions from members of the media.
