From May 28 to 30, 2022, the open-air Almaty book fair was held in Almaty. The three-day cultural event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Book Chamber, and the Almaty City Administration. About 60 local publishing houses and bookstores, as well as foreign publishing houses, participated in the book exhibition, which was attended by about 10,000 people for three days. The opening ceremony of the Almaty book fair was held by the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dauren Abaev, and the Mayor of Almaty, Yerbolat Dosayev. The Eurasian Research Institute was one of the important participants in such an important event.
The goal of the organisers of the Almaty book fair is to activate the trade of publishers and booksellers, find a positive solution to problems in the book market, accelerate the development of book culture, strengthen the relationship between the reader and the writer, contribute to the formation of educational culture, and increase the exchange of experience with foreign colleagues.
