Since recently, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia have been engaging in active mutual cooperation in their pursuit of European integration. All three states signed their respective association agreements with the “European Union (“EU”)” in 2014. On June 24, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the three countries held meetings with the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell in Brussels within a new format of cooperation called “Associated Trio”. This has been presented as a new format of cooperation during the previous talks held between the Foreign Ministries of the three countries and the EU on May 17, 2021.
